terms and conditions for AMBER CUSTOMER referrals

1. Sharing your referral code with a friend or family member (current customers)

1.1. You will receive $10 off your Amber bill each month for 12 months (a total of $120 inclusive of GST) for each new customer who joins Amber using your unique referral code, provided that:

  • 1.1.1. the new customer has never previously been a customer of Amber, either at their current or any prior residential or business address;
  • 1.1.2. the new customer is using the referral code in respect of only one supply address applicable to that customer;
  • 1.1.3. the new customer is at least 18 years old;
  • 1.1.4. you remain an existing Amber customer at the time the reward in respect of that new customer is applied to their bill.

1.2. You may use your unique referral code as many times as you like to introduce friends or family members to Amber.

1.3. You must not transfer your unique referral code to other Amber customers– only the customer to whom each unique referral code has been given by Amber may use that referral code to enable them to participate in the referral program.

2. Using the referral code to become an Amber customer (new customers)

  • 2.1. You will receive $10 off your Amber bill for 12 months if you sign-up using the unique referral code given to you by a current Amber customer, provided that you meet each of the requirements in paragraph 1.1.
  • 2.2. You acknowledge that the Amber customer who gave you the unique referral code will also receive $10 off their Amber bill, for 12 months, for each new customer who joins Amber in accordance with paragraph 1.1

3. Your obligations

3.1. Customers who participate in this referral program:

  • 3.1.1. must not make any statement, representation or guarantee on behalf of Amber Electric or hold itself out as having any authority to act on behalf of or bind Amber Electric;
  • 3.1.2. do not act as agent, partner or representative of Amber Electric and nothing in these terms should be read or construed to imply any such relationship.

4. General

  • 4.1. These terms may be changed at any time by Amber Electric without notice.
  • 4.2. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria.
  • 4.3. All rewards under this program are inclusive of GST.
  • 4.4. Amber will process rewards under this referral program as soon as practicable after they have been earned and no later than 2 months after each new customer enters into a valid customer contract with Amber in accordance with paragraph 1.1.
  • 4.5. Referral rewards cannot be combined with other discount codes at the time of joining Amber. Amber customers who joined Amber using a discount code from CommBank can receive their CommBank discount once they have signed up, but they won’t also receive this $120 discount.
  • 4.6. Amber may, at its sole discretion, either decline to apply any referral credit, or remove any referral credit granted, where it reasonably believes that you and/or the new customer (friend/family member) have not complied with the terms and conditions of this offer or are taking unfair advantage of this offer or where the referral is not genuine. Examples include the posting of referral codes to coupon or promotional code websites for use by members of the public who are not friends or family. Amber may require proof of identification in order to verify eligibility for this offer.
  • 4.7 The increase to $120 in referral bonus is available until 31 December 2025
