How easy is load shifting?
For many, load shifting is simply about adjusting when you do things, not if you do them. Activities like washing, drying, cooking, and dishwashing can be done a bit earlier or later to take advantage of lower energy prices. While watching TV or having the lights on doesn’t significantly impact your energy use, running the dishwasher in the middle of the day can make a big difference to your bill.

Amber offers a Quarterly Bill Guarantee, ensuring that over the course of each quarter, you'll never pay more for your electricity usage than the rates quoted in our Energy Factsheets.
Refund assurance
If you do pay more, Amber will refund the difference, giving you peace of mind.
SmoothPay
With SmoothPay you choose a fixed amount to pay towards your energy bills each month. During the times of the year when your bills are lower than the fixed amount you’ve chosen, the difference will go towards building your SmoothPay balance. Then you can use this balance to cover the extra costs when your bills are higher than usual.
What is Amber’s Bill Guarantee?
Amber’s Bill Guarantee ensures that over the course of each quarter, you will never pay more for your electricity usage than the rates quoted in our Energy Factsheets. If you do, Amber will refund the difference.
How does the Bill Guarantee protect me from price spikes?
The Bill Guarantee provides a safety net against high wholesale prices by averaging out your costs over the quarter, ensuring you don't pay more than a specified rate.
Are there seasonal differences in the Bill Guarantee rates?
Yes, a couple of weeks before the start of each quarter we will set the rate for each network for the quarter, and let all our customers know. Winter months tend to have slightly higher and more volatile prices on average, so the guarantee rates that cover winter months will likely be higher than those that cover summer months.
