Amber in the media
In summer, the staff and I here at the Digital Life Labs decided to take a punt and switch electricity providers to Amber Electric, a Melbourne-based power company which retails power at wholesale rates in an effort to encourage more Australians to shift to renewables.
Amber customers with solar, electric vehicles or batteries at home have been drawn to its unique business model, which automates customers’ batteries to discharge around 6pm each day, earning them money as they pump much-needed renewable energy into the grid.
Another portfolio company that she highlighted is Amber Electric, which allows customers to automatically use electricity at times that the grid is powered by renewables, and is more affordable.
Check out this in-depth chat between renewable energy and EV enthusiast, Osher Gunsberg, and our co-founder, Dan.
Adelaide resident Oscar Williams managed to save himself money by going green and signing up to energy provider Amber, which allowed him to just pay wholesale prices for a small cost of $15 each month for access to renewable energy.
