1. When did you join Amber?
I joined Amber in October 2020.
2. Tell us a bit about your background…
Prior to joining Amber I spent most of my working life in the travel industry, both in Melbourne and London. I’ve also been lucky enough to be a nanny in the Netherlands and work in hostels in both Spain and Bosnia.
3. Describe your role today in a nutshell…
I work in the marketing team here at Amber. Day to day I speak with potential customers and handle general enquiries. I also look after our social media platforms, our review sites and customer relations.
4. What do you love about working at Amber?
The people and the mission in equal parts! The mission to help drive the transition to 100% renewables here in Australia aligns closely with my values and has purpose. Amber also has a great team culture which makes me feel energised to come to work everyday.
5. What’s been your most inspiring moment?
I love educating new customers about some of the intricacies of the energy market and the impact each individual can make by load shifting. Hearing about customers who take this on and change their habits accordingly is really rewarding.
6. What do you like to do when you’re not working on getting Australia to 100% renewables and saving customers money on their energy bills?
Outside of work I’m an avid cyclist and traveller. During lockdown I’ve been dreaming about the trips I will take once things get back to a more normal state. Top of the list at the moment is a self guided walking trip of Cyprus, a week sailing in Greece and perhaps a week of cycling in Italy. A girl can dream!
7. Any energy saving / sustainability tips you can share?
Shift your load! For those who don’t have solar panels or who are renting - take advantage of other peoples solar energy that is being fed back to the grid during the day. The more renewables you use, the lower your energy bill!
