Strategy & Operations Manager

About Amber

About the Role

You’ll be the first member of our strategy and operations team, reporting directly into the COO.

We’re looking for an analytical and strategic individual who is excited about applying their exceptional problem solving skills to help scale our operations team. You’ll be working closely with senior members of the operations team as well as collaborating with other teams (both internal and external) to drive meaningful change to our customer's end-to-end experience.

You will:

  • Support the COO and senior members of the operations team in defining and measuring key success metrics
  • Help define, measure and run experiments (eg workflows, website FAQs) to optimise productivity and efficiency of the operations team
  • Develop our 'Voice of the Customer' report and help identify key initiatives to enhance our customer experience
  • Deliver end to end key strategic projects from initiation to execution (eg approach to phone lines)
  • Own the tools the operations team uses (eg Zendesk, Zapier) and drive workflow improvements
  • Empower the operations team to better service our customers through the creation of enablement materials
  • Support the COO in managing our key third party partners

About You

Key Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting or similar (strategy & operations) role at start up
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a fast paced environment, deals well with ambiguity and focuses on driving impact.
  • High attention to detail

Bonus points for the following

  • Prior experience at an early/growth stage start-up
  • Strong quantitative background (eg science, engineering)
  • You’re passionate about technology, energy and/or the environment

This is a full time role based in Melbourne. Due to Covid, we mostly work from home, with a few days a week catching up in a coworking space in the CBD when possible. We expect to remain Melbourne based but maintain flexibility between the office and WFH.
